How to Protect Your Google Account From Hackers?

These steps will help you protect your Google Account and reduce Google’s interference in your personal life and private data, so try to follow these steps as possible.

Close tracking location

I am one of those people who do not want to track their position continuously from Google and it is annoying to find third-party programs know your location and be able to track you at all times and all places and for this it is better that you close the location tracking from within your Google account.

Of course, if you use Google Maps, you may consider not closing the location tracking services because some of the program's services will not work well.

Of course, this makes sense for Google to do, and this is because the company wants to force you to activate location tracking services.

Turn off location tracking services

  • Log in to your Google account from here.
  • Click on Data And Personalization
  • Google account protection
  • Click Location History under Activity Contro
  • Google account protection
  • Move the slider to close this selection.
  • Google account protection
  • Confirm your selection by clicking on the word Pause below.

Disable Web & App Activity

This option prevents Google from saving your internet browsing data and your behavior while browsing the internet and breaching this privacy within Google. Of course, if you do not close this option, you will find that Google will save all your internet browsing data and the sites you prefer to access on a private server.

To close this selection go to Activity Controls as we did in the last step and then follow the following steps:

  • Choose Web & App Activity
  • Google account protection
  • Just like we did above, slide the Slider to close this selection
  • Google account protection
  • Enable two-step confirmation

Using 2FA or Two-Factor Authentication is the best way to shut down your Google account from hackers and to prevent them from searching your private data and logging into your account without your permission.

To enable these options, you can proceed to the following options:

  • On your account home page, like above, click Security
  • Press 2-Step Verification
  • Now press Get Started
  • Now enter your mobile phone number and choose the confirmation method you want, whether it is an SMS or a phone call.
  • Enter the code that you will receive on your phone and the phone number you entered, then press Turn ON.

Change backup mail and phone number to increase protection of Google account
Always make sure that you access your backup mail and your mobile phone number and use it periodically and make sure to change it if you move to new accounts or new phone numbers.

It is important to make sure that your Google account is protected periodically and continuously so that you are not surprised by the account theft or theft of data related to it suddenly and surprised by the loss of important user data of yours especially if your account is a working account.
